CHRISTMAS TOMBOLA

Join us for an Italian Tombolata, right before Christmas ponsored by Dolce Sicilia!

On Tuesday, December 22th from 6 PM to 7 PM, we are going to play “Tombola” all together, a famous board game similar to bingo that has its origins in Southern Italy.

Tombola is traditionally played during Christmas time, with the whole family around a table, and children shouting for their prizes!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To play this game, each player needs to buy his/her own “cartella” (card). Someone is in charge of the board and will draw the numbers from a bag. The bord is called “La Smorfia”, which means that each number has a funny nickname in Neapolitan.

Every time a number on the player’s card is called, he/she has to cover it with a piece of short pasta or a bean (that’s the Italian tradition!).

Prizes are assigned for:

• "quaterna", four numbers on the same row.
• "cinquina", five numbers on the same row.
• "tombola", all numbers on the card.
